Engineering tradition
behind modern
hoisting systems
From Prague’s industrial engineering roots to integrated hoisting systems under single OEM responsibility.

Industrial engineering pioneers
One of the key figures in Prague’s engineering development was Emil Kolben, who worked in the laboratories of Thomas Edison in the United States and encountered pioneers such as Nikola Tesla.
Returning to Prague, Kolben introduced advanced electrical engineering concepts that helped shape the region’s industrial development.
This engineering ecosystem later gave rise to major industrial enterprises such as ČKD and the early Škoda works, and created the foundation for specialised hoisting and mining technologies.

From industrial tradition to shaft hoisting specialization
INCO Engineering was established in 1994 as a specialised company focused on shaft hoisting systems for mining.
From the beginning, the company concentrated exclusively on shaft hoisting systems, developing deep expertise in the engineering, manufacturing and integration of systems designed for demanding underground conditions.

From specialization to integrated systems
As shaft hoisting systems became more complex, the need for seamless integration between mechanical, electrical and control components increased significantly.
Industry experience has shown that when these elements are delivered by multiple suppliers, interface risks and unpredictable system behaviour can arise.
We addressed this by expanding our engineering and manufacturing scope, taking direct control over key system components and their interaction.
This development marks the transition to an integrated engineering approach.

INCO today
Today INCO applies this engineering tradition to the development of modern hoisting systems delivered under single OEM responsibility.
This approach results in integrated hoisting systems with predictable performance and end-to-end engineering responsibility.
Global hoisting projects
More than 600 shaft hoisting projects worldwide

INCO hoisting systems operate in mines across multiple countries and mining sectors, demonstrating our ability to deliver reliable vertical transport solutions.
These systems operate under heavy loads and continuous cycles, demonstrating stable and predictable system behaviour in operation.
This experience provides a deep understanding of hoisting behaviour and long-term system performance.
